Not able to remap keys

Post by Hptm_Rumpelstoss »

first of all , please forgive me my bad german schoolenglish .

second , let me say , you Guys did and do an outstanding Job with your wonderful Updates !

btw : this Game runs fine with Facetrack(1.7) with my selfbuilt IR-Clip and Sony PS3 Webcam .

I`ve bought this Game on Date of Release , but i never had that immersion that i experience now with

Facetrack/IR . Just Great ! But now my Question :

Everytime i try to change the keymapping by doubleclicking on it , for instance , changing field of vision

from Shift&F12 to F12 , it will be mapped automatically on "H2_N" . I dont know whatever that H2_N means .

That happens with ALL other attempts to change any key , every attempt to change will be mapped to H2_N .

Sorry , i cant explain better with my poor english .

The only way i found to change the keymapping is : main directory - Keyboard- default - and there conform each

desired key hand by hand . Works perfect but takes a lot of Time .

Any suggestions why doubleclicking not works ?

My System

Win7 64

Intel I5 4430 no Overclocking ( OC )

8 GB Ram no OC

Ati 7850 no OC

Your english is flawless, no need to apologize.

When reassigning keys, the program starts "polling",
that is, checking for key-press or joystick button events,
at some point (sorry, I'm on the road and can't look up
the exact point which initiates this). If you are seeing
this H2_N appear,it means that some device on your machine
is sending out this identifier constantly, just as if you had
your finger on a key, so it is the first thing the machine finds
when it starts looking. The question then is: what is making
this signal? The designator H2_N looks similar to the designators
used for joystick buttons, which typically look like A1_B3
meaning joystick (=A) device 1 (ie first joystick found), button 3.

I don't know what H2 might be, but perhaps Hat switch #2, and
then N would be for North, or straight ahead. At any rate, it means
that your joystick or other input device must have an active
control on it, perhaps a knob which constantly sends a signal
when it is in certain positions. You will have to locate and
stop that signal. I seem to recall some users of fancy joysticks
with extra knobs having this problem.

@PV :

Thank you Sir for your pleasant words :-) as regards to my poor english .

After reading your very useful and information answer , i had a sudden inspiration :

BEFORE i`ve did a doubleclick on the selected key , i`ve pushed and hold the desired key !

and THEN a doubleclick .

Works perfect ! Also with my Thrustmaster T Flight Stick X .

Problem solved .

btw : i`ve also changed the mouse , no effect : H2_N , same with removing Stick from USB , to

avoid any ( existing ? ) constant signal .

Thank you , PV , for your Ideas :-)

Great that you've got it working. It is puzzling about the
H2_N. I suppose that the designator is either made up
by the BoB2 software to identify the signal, or else it
is getting it from some windows I/O system. Either way,
the signal must be there, coming from something. I
expect you'll eventually discover its source.
