Bdg.txt manipulation??

Post by Deej1965 »

Anyway to manipulate the time of day in the Bdg.txt file so that the day ends at 21:00hrs? In my campaign game my day ends at 19:55hrs regardless if I'm in the middle of intercepting a late German raid. I just happened to be in the middle of the a/m when I was whisked out of flying and into the screen summurizing the previous day's events and then of course into a new campaign day.
Thanks
Deej

Yes, just a matter of figuring out the right search terms, which are
Weather_Dusk_Time_Sec, kinda opaque, but now you know.
Here is a discussion: http://www.a2asimulations.com/forum/vie ... =17&t=4059

I suspect a fair number of people have implemented this adjustment
and it ticks along in their bdg.txt file as they step through patches,
so it seems to have been long forgotten, in that I couldn't find
any newer discussions about it. The nasty part about this, which is
part of the package of things I have been bemoaning for getting on a
decade now, is that the sun arrives at the horizon, and gets pinned there,
just touching, no matter what time of year, at 8pm, when it should be
still well up in the sky in July, and set for an hour already in September.
Basically, the sim is locked on about August 8th. If you extend the
evening by adjusting the variable, the sun will stop as it touches the
horizon at 8, and stay there for the rest of the day. This is why we need
coders in the bdg. It should be a simple fix. *sigh*

Yeah, it took me a while - I first did a search of the manual,
for day, then the bdg.txt file for day, and finally got it with
"time", then searched the forum for discussions.

General game tweaking assistance

Post by Deej1965 »

Finally figured out why I get no force feed back for my Logitek Wingman Force 3D joystick while playing BoBwov....I needed to go to the Logitek website and get the new drivers to install for use in windows vista...lol..still learning how to get things done right for older PC games on newer systems. Trying to tweak the AI in the game so that the movements and actions of aircraft/sqn are not so scripted and robotic in appearance. Also trying to disable some of the cheat keys in the game as well. Most annoying is the,I believe, "Alt J" cheat allowing aircraft to suddenly gain height instantaneously while fighting them. I'm fighting Me-109's that are level with me and suddenly chop up 2-3000 ft when engaged...not just a normal climb but u can see it in the sim actually jump up and away....AND also do amazing acrobatic flying while in combat...like really hard core acrobatics..lol...standing,stalling and sitting in midair;flat spinning, spiraling etc..it would make the Blue Angels and the Snowbirds green with jealousy...anyway to tone this down a touch? I've set the pilots at poor and novice in the sim..this seems good up to a point..but when I reach the regular, veteran and Hero level the pilots are simply error free and their aircraft are flawless in speed, climb power etc; Any guidance is of course always appreciated. Any news yet on getting BoB2 WoV to run on windows 8? Thanks again
