windows 8 compatibility

Hi If I upgraded my pc to windows 8 would I be able to load my BOB2 cd even though it's an old cd

See here about Windows 8. Most users can install BoBII but not run it with Windows 8.
One user reported some success after he installed the Windows 8.11 beta.

Several users have reported the issue to MS support forums for Win8 but the only answer provided so far was generic advice about checking dxdiag and updating video drivers etc ie, no help at all.

I have reposted the question to try to provoke further response, but don't expect much.
