I have installed my game yesterday and patched to 2.12. Flown merely 3 times so far and have tweaked the graphic settings as best I can but the landscape still looks like FS95 with shimmering and poor flat water colour. Not like your screenshots. I got rid of the jaggies by going through the options more GFX but is there some .ini tweaks to improve the game further please? I might be spoilt by Wings of Prey or War Thunder but not that much surely?
Personally I think the game has a very good feel to it. My system is capable of handling FSX, WOP and War Thunder with no issues (AMD A8-3800, 6gb RAM, GT520 1gb vid card).
Poor Graphics?
Re: Poor Graphics?
This is not my area of expertise. Here are some of my settings.
For 3D Resolution and Campaign Resolution your monitor's native resolution.
Gamma Level: Max
Water Detail and Weather Detail: High
on More GFX tab
Filtering: All
Texture Quality High
Particle Density Medium (higher particle densities can cause problems)

Re: Poor Graphics?
For a 9x16 or 10x16 aspect ratio (widescreen) monitor,
the option "Use Windows Desktop Resolution (recommended)"
should be set to OFF, then select your monitor's native
resolution using the dropdown menu which appears. For
version 2.13, we hope to have the GUI corrected here.
The "recommended" applied only to 3x4 ratio monitors
and is now getting seriously out of date.

Re: Poor Graphics?
Oh, great, now we'll all be holding our collective breaths waiting for the release date! Maybe a little hint when it'll be ready? Hmmm, hmmm?
Re: Poor Graphics?
The change in the GUI, if we manage it, will have
no effect other than to change the wording to
delete the word "recommended", unless we hear
from the coder who came on board a while back
announcing that he wanted to do a big overhaul
of the whole GUI, but hasn't been around in a while.
This should decrease the problems people have with
that screen. We are also working on an update to the
manual to make the selections a little clearer.
The schedule for the release of 2.13 is following the
standard BDG trajectory: it will be released shortly after
it is finished being assembled and tested out OK, and
it will be assembled after we decide we've probably done
enough to constitute something worth putting out.
We're quite a way from there yet.
