Quick Mission Map

Am I doing something really stupid or is the map not really very good when I press 'M' in the quick missions?
It seems really pixelated as I think I remember it in Rowan's original game. I know you can zoom in but I'm trying to get the idea of where all the landmarks are but apart from a crappy map I downloaded from the net, I'm sruggling. Is there some sort of upgrade or can the campaign map be used in the basic missions?

The in 3D game map is poor when un-zoomed. So that is not something with your system or setup.

There is no upgrade or mod to make the map better. I do not think it can be made better in the un-zoomed form.
Also there is no way to use the Campaign map in Instant Action.
