Bob2 battle of britain english text has stopped working

Fellow enthusiast,
I have recently downloaded bob2 from the pay site . The file appeared to dowmload with no problem and i unzipped with win rar. When i start the xxxx i get a message dialogue box battle of britain english text has stopped working and the prompt to close the program.

My pc is a brand new sony vaio t13 with ssd using windows 8 operating system.

What avenues do i have to diagnose and correct the program?
