I thought that the 'Units' setting would affect the Info line at the bottom of the screen. I set the option to 'Metric' but I still get 'ft' for altitude and 'MPH' for speed.

In your BDG.txt file (in the BOBII folder) find the parameter:

USE_NATIONAL_UNITS=ON (this is the default that most players use where RAF = Imperial and German=Metric).

Change to USE_NATIONAL_UNITS=OFF and save.

The units for both RAF and German will then be either Metric or Imperial as you select in the View screen under Units.

The User Guide Appendix A is the starting place to understand the BDG.txt parameter options in BOBII. Well worth a good reading to understand player options.

I'll certainly give that a try. JFYI, I have already had a good look at the manual, including Appendix A. However, what then is the 'Units' setting all about??

In fact, this is straight from the 2.10 manual:

--------------------------------------
Units
Imperial, Metric
The selection determines the units displayed during the game. For instance, in imperial units speed is displayed in miles per hour, while in metric units speed is displayed in kilometers per hour.
--------------------------------------

The Imperial gives you feet and MPH on both German and RAF A/C and the Metric gives you Meters and Kilometers/Hour for both German and RAF A/c in the Info line. This was the Rowan implementation which I thought you were asking for.

The BDG.txt switch was added later by the BDG because players wanted the more realistic INFO Line data of Metric for German A/C and Imperial for the RAF A/C.

So with the switch "ON" you get the BDG implementation and with the switch "OFF" you get the Rowan implementation

This seems to be more confusing than it should be. Now I'm getting 'kts' for my speed (Spitfire) on the Info line....but the dial in my cockpit reads MPH...???

So there appears to be THREE speed readouts on the INFO line.....MPH, KPH and KTS. My head is spinning.

Yes, you are correct the Imperial default speed in Knts and Alt in feet.

Yes, it is a bit confusing and I guess that is why most players use USE_NATIONAL_UNITS=ON.
