Hallo, everybody.

Is it possible to change default painting schemes of several aircraft to some schemes from multiskin without using multiskin?
Personally, I don´t like the Bf-109 default scheme which I´d very much like to exchange by another one.

There are many 109 skins depending on which squad you fly with (the skin is what the real 109 squad had).

I have sent a note to Chumleigh to ask about ID and PW requirements.

Hi Chumleigh,

Does a player need a ID and Pass word to look at your MultiSkin Pics?

Thank you, I get access to the galleries. Now how can I exchange the default Bf-109 painting scheme in the game with multiskin disabled?

Yes, can do this, but you may need a paint program to open and view the .dds texture that you would like to use from the MultiSkin \ Textures folder.

Once you find a skin you like, then you copy it to desktop, then rename that skin as M109ULF and paste it into the IMAGEMAP folder.

I also do not like the given ME109 skin when not using MultiSkin. This the way I always do it.

If you cannot open and view the .dds files in MultiSkin \ Textures folder, then let me know what kind of Emil skin you like, and I can offer some suggestions.

EDIT---

Sorry, the ME109 (no MultiSkin) skin is IMAGEMAP \ M109ULF.

Here is what I currently use. According to a Me109 Profiles book I have, this would be one paint job of 2nd Staffel / JG26:

Image

It is a very Hi Resolution skin, 2048x2048, and has the yellow nose & tail, a Teufel Kopf for evil, and.. as may last name starts with S, an appropriate Gruppe symbol for me.
Looks much better than stock issue.

I did not add in fuselage number and bar codes. I will do so for, when you tell me what skin you prefer.

Looks like this in game near Manston, which I remade. The 4 gun HAA Troop, at bottom, is the Cleve Court HAA gun site.
The smoker is a (Poor pilot) Spitfire in Turkey Shoot.
The cluster of objects at pic bottom is a 4 gun HAA Troop, at Cleve Court. Ha!
--Ann of Cleve would of made a good Anglo Queen, but she probably did not like fat Henry VIII rolling around on her body! --

Image

I wanted to remake Southampton better, too. PV made some excellent Southamton-Itchen River base terrain. :D
I had to make some realistic target objects there.
A poster the other day.. asked about balloon cables.
I told him "You gotta get close to them to see them. Don't run into one of these damned things. They will take you down!"
Kinda like an IED, 1940 aerial style.

Image

I placed 43 individual Heavy Anti-Aircraft guns at Southampton, historical true placements, best I know. Also 44 individual guns at Portsmouth.
These HAA guns will track and fire at my Emil, but I have never yet been hit by their fire, yet, twisting and turning, up and down.
They can take down a few "fly straight and level" Level bombers, though.

Here, I look back at the flak following me.. by the balloon that I got too near to.
Image

Well, I don't like nobody firing guns at me, and as I killed the 1 on 1 duel flying hawk Spitfire,
I'll go ground-sluicing sage grouse!

Image

Since this 4 gun 3.7" Troop is not a real threat to me, I'll just tickle the MG trigger for a short burst t see if I can on one gun crew.
I probably missed...
Image

Best get back to Le Havre, before I run out of fuel, fakking around!

There is another way to adjust the skins for all aircraft, using multiskin,
but tweaked for use with a weaker graphics card. It can be found here:
viewtopic.php?f=48&t=23195

Basically, you install and enable multiskin, but then go into the \Multiskin folder
and edit the files ****MainSkin.ms (making a backup first, of course). With the
current multiskin this amounts to 7 files. You simply put a line at the top of each
file that looks like

use MultiSkin\MultiSkinTextures\******.DDS if 1 == 1

where ******.DDS is a skin texture appropriate to that type of aircraft,
selected from the files in \Multiskin\Textures. This will cause only the texture file
you have chosen to be loaded for that type of aircraft, so you have just one texture
of your choice for each type of aircraft, but you also get the benefits of the rest
of the features of multiskin, ie distinct letters and number codes, and emblems,
for each aircraft. These are all much less resource intensive than the main textures,
so they should present no difficulty for any vidcard, but provide much more detail
and variety than provided by simple textures without multiskin. Particularly, screen
captures look rather lame when all the aircraft display the same call letters.
