I wonder if you could express a view on how BoBWoV would perform with this computer. It was reviewed in the current issue of PC Pilot:

Xigmatec Midgard case
650W Antec True Power 80+ power supply
Intel i7 2600 quad core overclocked processor
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU cooler
8GB Corsair DDR3 1600mhz RAM
500GB Seagate Hybrid SSD with 4 GB of SSD memory
1TB secondary hard drive
DVD RW
Asus P8P67 motherboard
Nvidia GTX570 graphics card
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

As I'm doing some heavy-duty music making on it I need another 4 or 8 GB of DDR3 RAM for loading samples into and the speed of the RAM is important. I’m not sure whether I want a Hybrid SSD rather than a standard hard drive. Are they reliable?

Thanks very much.

PC specs look good to me. Sorry, I am not up to speed on the SSD maybe some other players have one.

A guy at work had two solid state drives blow up on him; first one, then its
warranty replacement. Sorry, I don't know the brand name.

Cedric, I use my PC to make music as well.
I upgraded to SSD fand run my OS, DAW and my most used samples off it.
I can't recommend it enough.
Win 7 boots fast, the DAW boots up fast and samples load in really quickly.
General working with Windows feels much faster, firefox opens in the blink of an eye.
I too was very worried about reliability, my extensive research led me to go for Intel as they seem to be the leaders in reliability. I got drives the same size so I could technically RAID them for further reliability...but I haven't. I back up alot.

From a BOB point of view I'm not sure it makes a difference other than the missions loading quicker.
