training landing: no throttle - anybody else ?

Post by Wehner »

On approach with the spit, I get no throttle. I remapped the axis with my joystick, hit "9", but no avail. Strange thing is, I had the throttle in the ground attck instant mission.
Has anybody else this problem ? Or is it intentionally ? I noticed that sometimes the engine will quit at all, so maybe this is a feature to make the landing more challenging ?

Talking about the landing mission, isn`t the glide slope a bit steep for the spit (not necessarily a question for this forum, but since I mentioned it...).

Michael.
Nobody criticized the pilot for making that slow roll. American fighter pilots are supposed to have enough steam in their breeches to try something out of the book once in a while. The fact that he didn't make it was his own business.
