SLI a help?

Post by RichardIII »

Not a problem, a technical question if I may.
I have an SLI mobo, but I currently have only one vid card - a 6800 Ultra with 256 MB of DDRIII ram.
Would I get a big boost in video power by adding a second vid card? I'm really only looking for 24 fps with everything maxed out since the human eye can't really distinguish anything above that.
Seems the game is quite video card dependant. I don't have the game yet, I'm just asking.

Thanks,

AFAIK, the main thing SLI does is allow more pixels to be rendered in the same time with the same level of filtering. The pixels are not the bottleneck though - some people reduced res to 800 x 600 with little effect.
