Doesn't look like any of the default paints have the chin scoop interior painted either. I don't think it's possible to do it without coloring the belly radiator inside as well.

Be nice to get some definitive word on this from the Shockwave Powers That Be, though. And I'm still waiting to know whether this update features the new fuel mixture system. :?:

I've got a new system on order so does this mean that after I install the original P-51, all I have to do is install v1.2 :?:

Also, are you able to install to another directory :?: (Golden Wings III)

That's what drives me bonkers... I fly all my WW-II stuff in Golden Wings 3 and it's a pain in the buttocks to copy everything from an FS2004 directory to GW3....

Make a temporary directory where you put a copy of fs9.exe, install ww2f there and move everything (except fs9.exe) to where you installed gw3.

The flaps look the same to me in the screenshot. Haven't tested it myself.

It took me awhile to see what he was posting about. Look at the gap between the flaps and the wings on both sides. The gap is larger on the right side.

You can see the difference in the gap of the starboard flap verses the port flap in the recent 1.2 update VID/movie.... just watch closely as the camera rotates from behind the aircraft port to starboard... I don't think an adjustment in the .cgf file will work... it looks like the problems in the model file itself.

Much as I like the update, I have a few remarks:

1: No matter how far I pull back the stick, I cannot get the tailwheel steering to engage.
2: Even when holding the stick back during take-off only slightly, the plane lifts into the air from a tail down attitude. I would expect that first the nose would come down after which you have to give more back pressure to take off.
3: Does she not glide a bit too much during landings? From the pilot of a ‘real’ P-51 I heard that the prop gives so much drag that she loses speed quite easily in the landing configuration. I seem to need more runway than with the Thunderbolt.
She bounces quite easily, only when I pull the nose up so much that I get a stall warning just before touchdown am I consistently able to avoid a bounce.

All in all, the difference between the p-51 and P-47 in take-off and landing characteristics seems to have diminished with this upgrade. Is that correct?

Does anyone know if I need the P-51 1.2 upgrade?

I purchased and downloaded the P-51 in July 2006. I noticed the upgrade 1.2 was released in June 2006. Did my download automatically come with the update or do I need to download the update and install it anyway?

Keep the shinny side up and the dirty side down!

I Cannot install the update as it is asking me to pick my fs2004 directory and I only have fsx.

Can you not browse to your FSX directory?
