We need a good P-47 of the same caliber as the P-51D. We know you can do it and I think it would be a great add for the community since there are few if any good P-47's out there.
What do you say Scott ???

I'm serious.
They have plans to revamp B-17II .... and I think they need a vacation before they do it so they can have a clear head when they start working on the revamp. Initial estimates were that May 2005 would see the re-release of B-17II ... BUT due to Scott and Company's demanding accuracy, detail and much more, the sims they've been working on .. (i.e. BoB WoV Firepower, WoP, etc.) have taken more time than they have anticipated. I don't grudge them for that either ... it just indicates to me that the revisited B-17II ought to be a good one out of the gate.
BUT FIRST!, only a week for vacation!! Then they can start pumping out the B-17 rework ... once that's done, then they can look at other projects.

Give Alphasim's T-Bolt a try while waiting. We all appreciate how quality outstrips quantity, so "a few good P-47's" sure beats out "many lousy ones"!Jib01 wrote:We need a good P-47 of the same caliber as the P-51D. ...there are few if any good P-47's out there.

Everyone is talking about how nice they look but won't tell us where they are. What good are the pictures and discussion if I can't get a hold of one.
Once again I ask
Where are these located ?? Alphasim, Avsim, Where ?????????

Pick this aircraft up at Sim - Outhouse.
It's a freebie ... there are 3 packages you have to download to install it correctly.
The first is the base package called P47M_90.zip, then there is the first update called P47M_98, and the final patch called P47M_99.
install in the order listed, and as per the readme files.
And enjoy the 47M ... it's a great plane. Just needs a good 2d pit.

That P-47M is a very, very good addition to FS2004. However, after flying the WoP Mustang, and the way it feels, it's a tough comparison. Visually, that P-47 is an excellent addition. Flight model, which is so very important to me, it flies a little too "stable" I suppose.
Perhaps, however, that was how the Jug flew; every pilot it ever had praised how easy it was to fly.
