Any possibility we can get some A,B,C model Mustangs ??

Post by Jib01 »

The subject says it all. I was surprised we didn't get some of the early versions as well. Even one skin would have been enough.

Thanks
Very well done.....

I wish it were as simple as a new skin, as the C is my favorite of all the Mustangs. The B/C and A would both require new 3D models and flight model tweaks and the A would require a new soundset. The B/C would require a rework of the upper fuselage and wing filet. In addition to the upper fuselage work, and A would require a rework of the radiator scoop area and the whole nose due to the Allison engine.

Not to mention changing the flight dynamics.

I would expect that the A would be quite a bit different in the flight model department. As far as I know, the differences between the B/C and D are the lighter weight and increased directional stability of the earlier model. Of course, I am not a pilot or flight sim developer so I may be way off. I asked one of the CAF pilots about the differences once, and he said it was pretty much like the D other than the view and an extra inch of MP.

I can;t thank Shockwave enough for what an excellent product the P-51 is. It's the next best thing to being around a real one.

There is a really nice B here at:

http://www.donationware.net/

and the proceeds help keep Sim Outhouse alive. 2 bucks is not all that much.

I agree with the above post about Outhouse's P-51B. For two bucks it can't be beat (although, with WoP's D now, my B is regrettably wasting away in the hangar. Maybe I'll just use it for parts... ;) )

The B was a little faster and turned a little better than the D.

no doubt that the Shockwave P51D is a cut above, but there is a nice B out there and if you need that "birdcage" fix......it can do that

I'll check out the SOH P-51B, they even have a texture set for the CAF's P-51C. Though if Shockwave were to do an earlier model, I would be one of the first customers.

SkyUnlimited Productions has an A/B/C pack you might want to look at.

I just purchased the SU A/B/C package and it is the perfect compliment to the WOP P-51D/H. 8)
