Lost rain effects on the V35

Post by Kimo »

I lost my rain effects on the V35, I have seen it working before.
I don't know what caused it. I recently changed dynamic lights and mirrors in the configurator and updated the Cessna 182 don't know if that has anything to do with it.
In the 182 the rain works.

Hi Kimo,

Please can you let us know if you have ActiveSky (ASP4) installed, and if so are you using its weather or P3D default?

Thanks,
Nick

Hi Nick
I tested this with "active sky for p3dv4" version 6773. Yes I picked a rainy airport and tested the rain effect on the 182 worked and the v35 nothing.

Okay, thanks Kimo. Not able to reproduce this at present, even when I revert to the publicly-released version of the Bonanza. Just to check, do you have the most recent update for the Bonanza installed? (Currently 18.9.29.0)

Yes I did run the updater and it shows no new updates.
updater.ini says ApplicationVersion=18.9.15.1 is this the correct place to check the version?

Okay, thanks. You can double-check the currently installed version of the Bonanza in the Windows "apps & features" or "uninstall or change a program" window.

Thanks,
Nick

Okay, that's the latest version Kimo. Please could you try loading P3D without ASP4 running and see if the default 'grey and rainy' theme produces the rain effect in the Bonanza?

Thanks,
Nick

Ok did a quick test with gray and rainy theme and asp4 not running.
V35: no rain effect on windhields
C182: the rain effect works

Okay, thanks for checking Kimo.

Afraid I'm still not able to reproduce this issue at present. At present, all the rain file files for the Bonanza should be stored within its 'panel' folder where you should have a "Windshield" directory, and a "Windshield.dll" file too. It may be worth checking that these are present.

Otherwise, I'll look into this further and see if anyone else reports the same issue after updating their Cessna installations.

Best regards,
Nick

Windshield directory, windshield.dll are present.
A bit strange because it has worked before. But lets see if other people have this same problem.
If you need any files for troubleshooting just let me know I can send them.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Kimo,

Could you try reinstalling the Bonanza? It might help in this case.

Thanks,
Nick
