I've just tested with the latest version of the RXP software installed (2.4.3.0) and it's still working perfectly as far as I can see in both GPS and VLOC mode. Certainly nothing like the jumping CDI or HDG bug shown in your vids.

Could you briefly list any other 'utility' type software which is running on your system which may be involved.

Thanks,
Nick
1.) Active Sky for P3D;
2.) Little Nav Map Connector;
3.) UT Live;
4.) Multiplicity

I have disabled all of these alternately to try and identify the problem without success.

Okay, thanks Les.

Please could you post the contents of your RealityXP.GNS.ini for comparison? Also, what's "Multiplicity"?

Multiplicity is a program that permits sharing across different desktops.

https://www.stardock.com/products/multiplicity/

Since there is also the "twitching" of the HDG Bug w/ default GPS, I assume something else may be goin on. I noticed this .ini has GNS_430_1 AND GNS_430.1.DEFAULT ???

RXP .ini: (I use the single G430) - Also, Jean-Luc is in the loop on this.

Hi Les,

looking at the ini file, I've a few questions:

1) Are you using 430+430 or 430+530 setup?
2) Should you are using 430+530, are you sure your are using a unit #1 and a unit #2, and not for example 430_1 and 530_1?
3) Should you are using a 430+530, please note both are set 'Master Device' in the ini file, and as Highlander says: "there can be only one"!

I have some progress to report.

P3Dv4.3 /// WIN 10/64 // RXP G430 (single unit)

1.) I downgraded from RXP 2.4.3 to RXP 2.4.0. The good news is the HSI CDI is now stable and most GPS/AP functions are normal;

2.) The not so good news the GPS / NAV mode does not work with version 2.4.0. This is consistent with RXP notes: version 2.4.3. is designed to work with P3Dv4.3 AP.

3.) HDG mode looks like the ticket until/if a more permanent solution can be found.

4.) The RXP Garmin startup screen shows version 2.4.3. However, RXP menu (Shift+right click) indicates 2.4.0.

(Note: I will also post this @ AVSIM RXP Forums.)

Hi Les,

We're been reviewing any code change between GNS V2 v2.4.0 and v2.4.3 and there is nothing which would explain this.

However, should the GNS bool screens show v2.4.3, this means your are running 2 different component versions and this could cause the problem.

I'd suggest you reinstall the GNS V2 over, and check the following file versions match:
1) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Reality XP\GNS Simulation\FltSim\32\rxpGNS2.dll"
2) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Reality XP\GNS Simulation\FltSim\64\rxpGNS2.dll"
3) "C:\ProgramData\Reality XP\rxpGnsSim32.dll"
4) "C:\ProgramData\Reality XP\rxpGnsSim64.dll"

1) and 2) are gauge files, 3) and 4) are core GNS simulation.

Hi Jean-Luc,

I have P3Dv4.3 without 'Program Data' and unable to locate rxpGnsSim32. & 64 dll files. Can you advise where to locate these?
The first two do match as 2.4.0.

If you and/or A2A folks prefer we move this discussion to AVSIM, kindly advise. Or, is it ok here?

Disregard, I located 'Program Data'

Oh Dear!

1.) \32\rxpGNS2.dll - version 2.4.0
2.) \64\rxpGNS2.dll - version 2.4.0

3.) rxpGnsSim32.dll - version 2.4.3
4.) rxpGnsSim64.dll - version 2.4.3

I really thought that was going to work. Sadly, it did not. After four re-installs on two products, I'm either going to downgrade P3Dv4.3 to 4.1 with RXP v 2.4.0. Or, use the default GPS w/ P3Dv4.3. Will there be any issues using the V35 in P3Dv4.1 going forward?

Other than A2A aircraft, I've moved over to XP11.

Les,

I can't really recommend the downgrade because there's no guarantee it will fix your problems. As mentioned, I use the latest version of the RXP products in P3Dv4.3 without experienced the issue you're reporting. It's likely there's something specific to your installation which is contributing to this problem. It's just finding it that's tricky.

Thanks,
Nick

Nick,

Thanks. My issues are affecting the HSI. Even with the default GPS or no GPS, the HDG Bus is "twitching". With the latest RXP version (2.4.3), there is full and continuous CDI deflection.
Strangely, there is no anomaly with an earlier RXP 2.4.0 version. Unfortunately, this version doesn't work with AP NAV mode in P3Dv4.3.

Since my issues are with HSI components, If you have any ideas please let me know. I assume the HSI logic is built in to the panel design.

Given the 'erratic' behavior you are describing, I'd lean toward checking the antivirus program? Or any other 'tool' like process lasso or similar.

I conducted additional testing with the latest RXP v2.4.3 for the G430 as it relates to the erratic CDI and AP NAV performance. The following video link does a better job of describing the situation. Surprisingly, the AP NAV/GPS functions appears normal while the erratic CDI operation continues. If I could solve that issue, all would be good.

Thanks for that latest vid Les.

Is there any chance the default GPS is also trying to send commands to the CDI? (As well as the RXP unit I mean?) I'm just wondering if it has a flight plan loaded into it or something in the background, perhaps via the Little Nav Map software you mention?
