Flap Indicator INOP

Post by GoProTexas »

Just finished my first leg with the Bonanza.
It doesn't look like my flap indicator is showing any sign of movement.
After inspection nothing shows up regarding it in the hangar.
I'm on P3D v4.3

GoProTexas,

So to confirm, you can move your flaps and the flap indicator doesn't move? Does everything else seem to work OK? Have you tried doing a REPAIR ALL, or RESET in the CONTROLS menu (Shift-3)?

Howdy, Scott.

I can confirm the flaps actually do go up and down, the indicator just doesn't reflect that.

Caught it during approach when I confirmed flaps selected and indicating, just didn't get the indicating lol.

I have tried the fix all in the maintenance hangar, but it didn't seem to work. I'll try a reset here soon.

Ok, in v4 in the used setting, the flap selector gauge was inop even after fixing the initial mention in the hangar. Using the reset and going back to brand new state did fix the issue and the gauge read correctly.

You might check your circuit breakers next time, I had it pop on me earlier today. Actually, I've had 3 pop on me in about 4 hours of flight time, so I wonder if there's got a bug going on with the CBs. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with my electrical system when inspecting in the hangar, so 3 systems popping the CB seems a bit excessive.

Chevelle,

Good point checking the circuit breakers. You shouldn't be popping breakers that much. Let us know if it continues.

GoProTexas,

Try re-installing if nothing else works. Someone had a similar issue that was fixed with a re-install.

Scott, sorry for the late reply, I have been out all day.

With a restart of my computer it seems the flap indicator is now working. No reset or reinstall required just yet...

Regarding the breakers, I just had my Turn Coordinator breaker trip on me.

Earlier in the flight I noticed my GPS had gone dark and my NAV 2 frequencies started displaying "--.--". I'm not sure if this is related to the breakers, I didn't think to check. But apparently breaker position is not persistent since landing and restarting the sim restored GPS and NAV 2 operation.

So that's 2 (3??) possible breaker trips over the course of a 7 hour ferry flight.

(As a side note, SEVEN HOUR non-stop ferry flight with tip tanks. AMAZING endurance!!)

Edit: Just now as I was checking my breakers after this post I had to reset the Alternator Field Current breaker as well. Brand new airplane. Seems like something is causing breakers to trip far more often than they should.

I also had two circuit breakers trip during an initial 45 mins or so use of the Bonanza, these being the turn coordinator and then the lighter. I guess this may indicate something is causing them to trip more frequently than intended.

On a similar note and I am not sure if this is related; I noticed you can only push a circuit breaker back in it is not possible to pop it out as I thought you can with other A2A aircraft? :?:

And just had my clock/flap pos breaker trip as well. I'm guessing there's a random chance for breakers to trip but somewhere there's a poor, lost decimal point that needs to move a few places to the left.
