This is a very handy tool! Very powerful to crosscheck ones calculations done by hand. I wonder if it is legal to do flight planning, weight and balance and stuff only with an app like this!?

I would think it’s as legal similar to other EFB’s on tablets... Only certified equipment can be used as a “legal†source of navigation - the iPad merely provides better situational awareness... That said - I’m sure there are tons of pilots who completely rely on their iPad position without question... With this app - sure you can use it - but as PIC it’s up to you to do your due diligence to insure you have the correct information you need...
