Flight one g500/g600 ingratiation

Post by Ayce »

Hello!

I know the bonanza hasn't even been out for a week but I'm curious if there are any plans to be able to add the flight 1 g500/g600 to get that glass cockpit and more modern feel in the new bonanza.

Thanks!

Yes, that would be awesome! Especially as the Garmin G500 is very popular among real-world Bonanza owners.

While we’re at it, a digital engine anylizer would sure be slick - make accurate LOP ops a treat!

I wont hold my breath on it since it looks like a rather big modification. Remember that now we have a ton of logic for the gauges. They will need to rip that apart and also create a new vc model etc :|

Yeah I Understand but the thing is it shouldn't be any different than putting the GTN 750/650 in from flight1 because Flight1 also makes the G500/600 but what do I know its probably a lot more difficult then I think which is why it's not out

I think it’s time for this feature to be added to the A2A general aviation accusim products. I love each and every one of them, but today it is a very realistic option to upgrade the avionics on older planes. It would surely add more fun to flying these planes. Perhaps A2A can consider an expansion pack for this? If the GTN models can be added, I’m sure this can be added as well. I’m no programmer so perhaps A2A can chime in on this?

I agree! It'd be nice to see some more support for the G500/600!

Add me to the list of folks who'd LOVE to have the G500/G600 in my GA aircraft. I've been eyeballing it ever since it came out, but it seems there are still only two aircraft that have it integrated into the VC, neither of which I have. It would be fantastic to have it in these realistic addons such as the Bonanza!

I second both the 5/600 and the digital engine monitor. Seems to be a very popular choice amongst GA pilots these days. And given the reliability of the analog engine gauges, almost a must-have. Fingers crossed!

Not directly related to the question, but I dislike how the displays are still drawn in P3Dv4 graphics engine. State-of-the-art mechanical 3d gauges look brilliant with the current lightning and shadowing system, but emissive surfaces of the displays simply don't look right to me. There is little to no reason to dim them during night, but even worse, they look just about as bright in direct daylight, sun shining directly on the screen at the worst possible angle... Aircraft cockpit displays often use special anti-reflective coatings and relatively large, bright pixels. This creates somewhat unique look to the displays, more akin to industrial screens than PC displays, as color accuracy is not important but distinctiveness is. We are missing this completely in P3Dv4 as of today.

One way or the other, the time must come for A2A to eventually consider having a more modern cockpit option that makes use of the G500. It's practical use to P3D and the real world makes it well worth having despite any visual limitations.
