I'm gonna try this. I flood nearly every time no matter how hard I try to adjust things.AviationAtWar wrote:Here's something I stumbled onto. It actually started more easily the first time it happened than in this video, I was quite surprised when it it started so easily. With the throttle between 20 and 25% and mixture rich I've ran the electric pump until the needle stabilizes, shut it off and crank. My engine has about 710 hours on it.

Re: Starting tricks?
Like I found with the Cherokee, using more throttle helps. The warbirds seem to like around 10%, this and the 180 (I don't have any other GA's) like more.
Re: Starting tricks?
I prime till the needle goes halfway through the wide green arc, throttle open to 30% and the engine fires on the 3rd turn every time.
