Hi,
I had no problems at all with the Coni in P3Dv3.n
After switch to P3Dv4 I installed the Coni but did not use her.
After upgrading to v4.1 I wanted to pick up flying with her.
However stutters ....
So uninstalled the Coni Reinstalled her.
Upgraded A2A
Cleared shaders folder
No result.
With standard pushback Shft+P, taxiing, flying and even slewing stutters within a second.
Selecting another aircraft, PMDG NGX or RealAir Duke v2 no stutters at all.
Switching to standard P3D aircraft and then back to the Coni stutters are back
All setings to minimum disable GSX. No improvement stutters remain.
Anybody a suggestion?
Thx in advance.
L-049 P3Dv4.1 stutters
Re: L-049 P3Dv4.1 stutters
Hi pcpiloot,
I have an issue too not sure if it's quite the same. Do your engine gauges jump after each pause or stutter?

No it does not.Andayle wrote:Hi pcpiloot,

Engine gauges are not effected.
Stuttering is inside and outside the cockpit.
The movement of the plane stops for a vary short moment. then the plane moves again.
This happens every few seconds.
Whatever other plane I use it does not occur, only the L-049

Hello,
are you using the P3Dv4 Connie or a previous P3D version?
thanks,

Hi Lewis,Lewis - A2A wrote:Hello,

I cannot find a version in the Conni, however it must be the version for P3dv4.
During istallation I had the option to select v4.
Installation is not in P3D folder, but in addons folder, so it looks like the correct version.
Further more I've put all the sliders and settings to the absolute minimums. 》 No improvement
Jacob.

Re: L-049 P3Dv4.1 stutters
Ok good stuff, since you updated have you changed your shaders at all?
Also what is your fps target limiter set too?
thanks,
Lewis

No result.
So after the installation I cleared the shaders folder. P3D rebuilded them and there was no change in the stutters.
In the mean time (life goes on ...) I installed PTA and I installed the preset of Pilot Pete. Again no change.
My fps is unlimited.
Looking at my framerates with parking brakes on engines idle, I notice that there is a frequent drop to fps 4.
That will be the stutter I assume.
Again if I switch to PMDG or RealAir I do not have the drop in FPS

Hello,
try setting your frame limiter to your refresh rate or animation rate in fs, 33 etc.
thanks,
Lewis

Re: L-049 P3Dv4.1 stutters
Hi,
Thank for the advise.
I tried all possible refresh rates combined with egual max fps.
I disabled all sceneries.
I ' set everyting to minumum in the settings.
Test was always the same.
Load default plane
Load L-049
Taxi
Load default plane
Load PMDG NGX
Taxi
Always L-049 stutters, PMDG NGX does not.
I also compared L-049 with the Douglas_C-47_V3_12_Beta with the same settings and the result was equal
L-049 always stuttered where Douglas_C-47_V3_12_Beta did not.
It is a pitty, but for now I've put my Conni in the hanger.

Re: L-049 P3Dv4.1 stutters
I also have suffered from very short but regular stutters.
After looking in more detail to the changes I've made I found that TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=10 causes these permanent short stutters in my sim. Reducing it to TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=9 solved this issue and all stutters are gone.

Re: L-049 P3Dv4.1 stutters
Michael,
Reducing it to TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=9 solved this issue and all stutters are gone.
Thx for the advise.
However, when I checked my settings I saw it was already set to 9.
I reduced it to, 8 tested it and there was no improvement.
Setting to 10 I also tested and I could see no difference.

Re: L-049 P3Dv4.1 stutters
I have been able to make a flight in the Coni without stutters
After trying out everything possible I realised that the difference between A2A an PMDG is not only the aircraft (believe me, I can see the difference between a Coni and a B738 ) but it is also the file location.
A2A installs in the user addon folder.
So I moved the Coni to the P3DV4\SimObjects\Airplanes folder
Nothing else, just for trying out.
And ..... no stutters.
I made a flight of 1.5 hour and everything went well.
When I restarted the simulator and the Coni, I got a messge:
Attemt to call a nil value stack traceback.
I deinstalled the Coni, remove manually all A2A files an reinstalled the Coni.
I selected the P3Dv4 folder assuming that the installation would be in P3Dv4\Simobjects \Aircraft and also partially in P3Dv4\A2A
That was not the case. Installation was everything in P3Dv4\A2A.
Again I moved the plane to the SimObjects\.. folder
I also moved effects, gauges, fonts to these folder under P3Dv4 root.
After starting the simulator with another airplane an then selecting the Coni I still get the same error message.
However after ignoring the message I was able to make a stutter free flight.
I know, this is not the way to install an A2A addon, but by doing it this way I probably found what causes the problem.
So can someone tell me what is the correct way to install the A2A L-049 in P3Dv4 in the P3Dv4\SimObjects\Airplanes folder just like all the others.

Re: L-049 P3Dv4.1 stutters
Hello Jacob,
it sounds like you maybe have some different HDD's on your system and perhaps one is either technically slower or full or alternatively potentially damaged. I would wager a simple slower drive or some such though.
I would advise to reinstall to an external location but set this up yourself. Please see your P3D documentation for how to setup add-on folders, the A2A installer supports being installed anywhere outside the main root, by default this is just the P3D default of my docs.
thanks,
Lewis

Re: L-049 P3Dv4.1 stutters
Hello Lewis,
I already did.
I reinstalled the Coni with just changing the destinatiom
It was installed on the same location as P3Dv4 which is a SSD, so G:\P3Dv4\A2A
Result is exactly the same, stutters all the time.

Re: L-049 P3Dv4.1 stutters
double check your anti-malware software, something is interfering with the reading and using of files outside the loaded program directory. This is normally the type of thing anti-virus type stuff would be doing.
