Strange flap behavior

Post by laserit »

I installed the 049 into P3Dv4 last night.

Every things seems to be working correctly except for the flaps. When I deploy flaps incrementally, the flap lever will move to the proper position, the co-pilot callout will be correct, but the flaps themselves will always fully extend. When I try to retract the flaps incrementally, the lever moves to the proper position, the copilot callout will be correct, but the flaps themselves will not move. When you hit the F5 key the flaps will fully retract.

Any ideas?

Sincerely
Floyd Stolle

Hello Floyd,

what are you using to control the flaps in the sim?

What does the lever do in the VC?

thanks,
Lewis

Hi Lewis

The behavior is the the same whether I'm using the F6,F7, keys or when I use my mouse to move the flap lever in the VC

The flap guage and the flaps externally will only fully deploy or fully retract no matter where the lever is positioned. Callouts will be correct to the lever's position. The only way I can retract the flaps after they have been extended is with the F5 key. Using the F6 key or moving the lever will have no effect. The lever always moves correctly.

I normally use my Saitek multipanel with Spad.next to operate flaps. I did try without Spad.next and the multipanel in case they were causing the issue but the behavior is the same.

edit: Also the flap gauge is always correct to the flap position.

Does P3D still have an "advanced animations" option? I'm an FSX user. It almost sounds like the sim is not rendering advanced animations.
