Connie CTD in P3Dv4 Hotfix1

Post by cees »

Hi,

The Connie freezes P3DV4 direct after start-up the sim
The other planes are loading correctly

I also have P3Dv4 hotfix 1. My T-6 and Comanche work just fine. The Connie loads to a black screen. I've tried loading the default F-22 scenario, then switching to the Connie. Then it loads to a view out the windshield, but no controls or instruments are visible.

I replied to the other topic about it yesterday, but apparently it's not there....

I have this problem too. My system is pretty fast with an M.2 Samsung 960 pro, so I can conclude that P3D v4 does not hang at the exact same point everytime. Sometimes I get the cockpit loaded and it stops there, sometimes black screen, sometimes just the sky loaded.

I have verified that the problem is not the exe.xml I have in my appdata\roaming\etc for my saitek panels, by removing it. I did the same with SimConnect.xml wich I have there for my FSE client. I had already removed the plane from v3, but installed it there again to see if it still works there, and it does.

Install log of the plane shows nothing of interest. Windows logs show the same error, just that the application hangs for 'unknown' reason. content error log for P3D shows nothing.

temp solution for the freezing cp and CTD in P3d V4 HF

Post by cees »

Hi,

after a little examination and testing i found the following solution to fly the Connie

follow the pad from left to the right
your HDD/SSD with your OS (in my case C)
__Users__(Your name)___Documents___Prepar3D v4 Add-ons
A2A___Simobjects___Airplanes____WoS_L049___panel___and remove L049sv2.dll

the " L049sv2.dll" file is crashing my connie

cheers

Give it a moment it sounds like its still loading. Hotfix 1 makes loading a little longer is what we are seeing across the platform.

Can you let us know what Anti-virus you are trying and disconnect from the web and try running without it turned on to rule out any exemption issue.

thanks,
Lewis

Hi, Lewis

using zone alarm firewall and anti virus.
I,ve switched both off after disconnecting the internet.
after that I re and installed the Conni again and got the same result with the result of freezing and crashing P3D V4.

First and foremost, I want to thank you Lewis for your efforts to keep us all flying!

I let it run. And run. Black screen with 8.3 fps. Finally, after five minutes or so, I tried Alt+Ctrl+Delete, and saw on the task manager that P3D was "not responding." I went back to the program and saw the twirling blue circle, then the program stopped in about 20 seconds. Next I tried moving out the file L049sv2.dll out to the desktop. WOW! She loaded right up! Only no internal cockpit sounds. No switches, no FE in the background. I had a similar problem with my Manfred Jahn C-47 in P3Dv4, and had found a program on Sim-Outhouse that had corrected lack of internal cockpit sounds http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/s ... e-released. I even tried that, replacing L049sv2.dll per the instructions in the post, but - no joy. That is to say, the plane loaded, I could see inside and outside, fps was 30 or so, but still no internal sounds. So I slid the L049sv2.dll back in to the Gauges folder and will wait until a fix comes along.

Negative Function:

Thank you for your help. I know that eventually this will be resolved.

Hello,

guys can you please double check your anti-virus and make exemptions for the p3d and add ons folders you are using. In the other thread this and a correction of the folder being set to read only was the fix for the users. This would also explain why so few have experienced it as its a system issue.

thanks,
Lewis

Lewis: Thank you for getting back. I turned "real-time scanning" off in McAfee Total Protection, then tried loading the Connie. Negative function. Same thing, black screen, with Task Manager showing P3D as "not responding." I bailed from P3Dv4, turned real-time scanning back on, started P3Dv4, and loaded the Comanche at KAWO.

Still negative function on the Connie.

Thank you

Hello,

can you try disabling it altogether and also windows native if using it and also check your addons folder permissions. Are you guys running P3D as administrator?

Thank you, Lewis! I started P3Dv4 as administrator and the Connie came alive! I started up the engines with the assistance of the FE and we were ready to start taxiing out for takeoff. Speakin' of that, I have to get out of the sim and ride my motorcycle up to Mount Vernon, where I will 1) renew my driver's license, and 2) ride on up to the weekly Safety Meeting of the Hog Ridin' Fools MC, this time to be held at the Birdsview Brew Pub up on Hwy 20.
