Hi there
Am I the only one having a problem with the units with the Connie? Sometimes it's in mph, sometimes in kts, and the aircraft shows the IAS in kts.
Why this mix? Of course we can convert, but I'm not sure I see the point, and some tables like in pp. 130 don't show the units so it's hard to know whether it's statute miles or nautical miles (such low value would hint at kts, probably). At the time, the speeds were usually indicated in mph - at least it's the case in the manual of the C-69 for example, and it was customary in US civil aviation before 1969.
I have no problem with mph, km/h or kts, nor even a preference, as long as it's consistent.
Wouldn't that be better to have the aircraft IAS in mph, as well as all the tables of the manual, to avoid confusion?
