Great news that you've managed to find the culprit Gerd. A strange one though, as I'm sure there are many German A2A customers who use the Connie. In fact, there are several other German FSX users here including Sebastian (Piper_EEWL) above: do you guys use the German or English language version?
Thanks,
Nick

Wow. Glad that this is sorted out. Long PM thread
I use the SteamEdition and this is in English even on the German Windows installation so there are no conflicts on my system. I was not able to reproduce the problems.

May also make a difference if it is a Gold-Version with Acceleration Pack includedNick M wrote:Great news that you've managed to find the culprit Gerd. Thanks,

or if it is a Prof-Version with an Acceleration Pack upgrade. (like mine)
Re: No functionality behind "Auto-Start"?
Great that something substantial finally worked, however I severely doubt that the German language in FSX is the real culprit. I use German language in FSX (using the Original FSX Gold Edition installation discs of the German version) as well and I never saw the effect you described. What exactly did you change and why do you have now two different languages in FSX?GerdD wrote:
Hi Nick,
got it! Was the german Language.dll in FSX. After changing to the english one
it worked. The problem now is that FSX has two different languages and
I do not know yet what this means for my other installations.
I therefore ask A2A if they can change something for the Connie working properly with the
german Language.dll.
Thanks to all of You for the contribution in helping me finding the problem.

Your version has an integrated Acceleration Pack. What means that everythingLostSoul wrote:GerdD wrote: Great that something substantial finally worked, however I severely doubt that the German language in FSX is the real culprit. fits together ideally. My one is a german Professional Edition with an updated
english Acceleration Pack with SP2-deinstall upfront (both boxed versions).
I do not want to go deeper in such a setup.
However, it is a valid combination in the market. Maybe a seltom one, but it exists.
But I would appreciate if You tell me/us what the real cuprit is!

Re: No functionality behind "Auto-Start"?
So first of all I'm glad you finally got this to work. That must have been a real pain for you!
For me it's the other way around btw. I have an original English FSX boxed installation with a German Acceleration pack installed into it. I never had any troubles with this setup. At least none that I ever noticed.
Anyways. Great find and happy flying!

You have an english language.dll and all your menus should also be in english.
I tried to acomplish this but it looks like many of the grafical menus have
hardcoded german text and are not be influenced by the language.dll.
Re: No functionality behind "Auto-Start"?
Ah well, that's a unhealthy combination indeed. I can't really tell you what is conflicting here as I don't use such a strange combo... Anyway, if it works now, then it's allright. No reason to further investigate. Mixed language components are known to do mysterious things - not only in simulationGerdD wrote: Your version has an integrated Acceleration Pack. Actually is mixed in my sim. Some stuff is German and some stuff is Englisch. I don't know why but that's just how it was after installing the Acceleration pack.GerdD wrote: Thanks. Your´s the better combination.

Same at my end. The acceleration pack has, at least, it´s own language.dll and puts own files in the fsx\Display path.Piper_EEWL wrote:Actually is mixed in my sim. Additionally some of the menu graphics have obviously hardcoded text. But perhaps we can help each other?

Correction to my last post here: should read "fsx\Dialogs path".
