Adam_NZ_____ I have checked and double checked the installation path. It is correct. I'm using the default which I have used to install all my other A2A aircraft which include P-51, T-6, J-3 Cub, Boeing B-17 and P-47. They all installed properly and work great.

If all is correctly installed and a certain A/C does not show up, it may in rare cases point to a corrupt aircraft.cfg.

Check in your Connie Folder whether in the aircraft.cfg the following section can be found:

By adding new paints it may be deleted by error - just another guess. In any case if this section is not present, the A/C do not show up in the GUI although propery installed.

Hi Lostsoul_____ You may be on to something. I have the cfg file in my Connie folder but I can't open it. When I click on it, all I get is a tiny picture in the middle of my screen. I purchased the program from FS Pilot shop. They offer 20 free downloads in case something goes wrong. I also have their backup disk. I have downloaded the Connie 3 times and installed each one with the same results. I also installed the airplane with the backup disk. Also the same results. If a file was corrupted, wouldn't my computer tell me? It's hard to believe that all the downloads and the backup disk would have the same corrupted file. They are all independent of one another. When it comes to computers, I must be the dumbest guy on the planet. I have just tried to open the cfg. file on some of my other airplanes and access was denied. shoudn't I be able to access any of those cfg files?

LostSoul_____ you mention in one of your previous posts installing FSX into its own separate path or better still, on to a separate HD or SSD. I think I would like to try that but how do I do it?

Are you able to open and read OTHER aircraft.cfg files?

This small picture' you are seeing is strange. The aircraft.cfg file is simply a text file
and you should be able to open it with no issues in Notepad.

In any case, that file appears to be at the route of your problems.

As for installing FSX on another drive, you would first need to uninstall it completely, then
run the installer again AS ADMINISTRATOR, and point it to the drive you want to
install it on. I would also change the default folder name to simply "FSX".

So essentially you replace the default path C:\'whatever it is'\Microsoft Flight Simulator X
to something like D:\FSX

I would attempt to get your current issue sorted out before trying to uninstall and move FSX.

Are you able to open and read OTHER aircraft.cfg files?

This small picture' you are seeing is strange. The aircraft.cfg file is simply a text file
and you should be able to open it with no issues in Notepad.

In any case, that file appears to be at the route of your problems.

As for installing FSX on another drive, you would first need to uninstall it completely, then
run the installer again AS ADMINISTRATOR, and point it to the drive you want to
install it on. I would also change the default folder name to simply "FSX".

So essentially you replace the default path C:\'whatever it is'\Microsoft Flight Simulator X
to something like D:\FSX

I would attempt to get your current issue sorted out before trying to uninstall and move FSX.

don't get me wrong, not everyone has learnt to use a computer. But I think it would be a LOT easier and less time consuming if you could ask someone like your children/parents (I don't know your age ) to help you set up a remote desktop and ask someone who has experience doing this to have a look for the things we have written about.. otherwise I really doubt this way of support will lead to any solutions... The fact that other addons work points out that there got ANYthing wrong with your FSX installation after your latest addon installations and before you bought the Connie...

Hi MarcC____I just had my son (supposed to be an expert) copy the entire Connie confg.file that Tug002 posted and installed it in my confg. file in my Connie folder. When we tried to open it we got the same little square picture.
I have tried repeatedly to upload my Connie folder without success. ( it has the same picture in front of the cfg file in my connie folder)
I have opened my P-51 confg file with no problem but when I tried to open any other aircraft cnfg file I was denied access.
These files should have unlimited access but I can't open them. So many good people trying to help. I really appreciate it.
I'm going to have to walk away from this for awhile to let my anger and frustration subside. I will probably have to chalk this airplane up for a total loss. Thanks again for all the time and effort.

that's what I think too.. it really sounds weird and if you don't have too many addons a clean reinstall into C:\FSX or similar shouldn't be too much work and should solve it...

Why not try right-clicking on the FSX icon while holding down shift and select Run As Administrator. See if that helps before reinstalling.
