FSX Autopilot

Post by del »

Hi,
I'm having a problem setting hundreds of feet on the default FSX A/P. Almost always it only allows me to set the required height in thousands of feet. At odd times this changes and it then only allows changes of hundreds of feet! Is this a fault that anyone else experienced or am doing something wrong?

If I remember right there are two dials on that auto pilot. A small one and a larger one just below . Using the mouse wheel will turn it. The small one for thousand foot increments and the larger for hundred foot increments.

Keep smiling
Tug :)

Thanks Tug - but it's just the bog standard FSX A/P that I'm using.

It's been a while since I've used it, but if I remember correctly, the cursor is location-sensitive. If you position it over the left side of the altitude numbers, it'll scroll in thousands. If you position it over the right side, it'll scroll in hundreds. I'll see if I can try it out later - not sure - but maybe in the meantime, others can confirm.

Thanks Alan,
It works well when I first use it on the ground. Once at my alloted altitude, though, I can only change it in thousands of feet.
