LO49 WITH P3DV4 INSTALLATION

Post by scarter »

i select L049,the airport click OK, the blue loading bar completes...and then I get a black screen (not the L049 at the airport) and you can hear the engines running..The screen just stays black..I uninstalled and reinstalled..that didn't work. This issue doesn't happen with other A2A aircraft.

Hi.
I dont have P3D i use FSXA , but did you download and install the l049 then run the updater , prior to running the sim , also is your sim and windows operating system fully updated , and are you running the sim and aircraft as admin.

Hello scarter,

Just to clarify, are you using the new P3Dv4 installer for the L-049, or the original one?

If you have the new installer, it'll show version 18.3.30.0 if you right click the file and view its properties. Or you can check the version in the Windows "apps & features" or "uninstall or change a program" window.

With version 4 of Prepar3D, the screen will stay black for quite a while upon loading if the shader cache has been refreshed, so it may be worth waiting for a minute or so.

You could also try deleting the shaders folder manually...
  • C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Shaders
...in case the shaders have become corrupted. (The folder will be generated next time you restart P3D.)

Thanks,
Nick

You beat me to it Nick,
Verify installer version and clear shaders.

Also, you can check for updates via the Start menu in Windows. Look for "A2A Simulations" and then find 'L-049 Check for Updates P3Dv4'. This will make sure your plane is up to date.

And as Alan pointed out, make sure you ran the Connie installer as admin. Extract the executable to a folder, Right click > Run As Admin. Always a good idea as well as running P3D as admin on startup.

Good luck Sir.

Hey scarter,

good to hear you are up and running, but please don't feel you are wasting time at all, we would much rather you say something and post than say nothing.

thanks,
