How do I serve meals?

Post by DatDudeMIC »

Are the meals served when the “meals” icon or the “no meals” icon is showing?

When the Shift+3 2D panel says "Meals" it means you will have meals served on the flight. The actual meal service is announced (i.e. actually happens) when the Shift+2 2D panel says "Breakfast [or whatever] is being prepared", "Passengers are eating lunch", etc.
For shortish flights I usually turn meals off, otherwise Sod's Law means they are just getting their food at the point you are doing all sorts of aerobatics to keep the darn thing straight on final approach and you get slated for it by the passenger reviews!

Just to add to SJDobbys reply. The meals of course are served around the appropriate times. So if you have a flight from 09:00am till 11:00am you might not get a meal service at all.
