Anybody have the rest of the power setting tables/charts?

Post by BraselC5048 »

A2A has apparently learned from the b377 and provided a set of power settings for the L-049. The problem is they didn't include enough of them. There's only one set; you actually need a set for max cruise, economy cruise, and long range cruise, and I don't really know what set is the one included. Really, a composite cruise control chart in company with those would more or less comprise the basic flight documents required for flying the plane. Anybody know where to get them?

Actually, there is no error here. The L-049 never had any charts other than the ones included in the package. This was still the early stages of "long range flight" for aviation. They had one power setting and that was it. It wasn't until a decade later (when aircraft like the DC-6, B377, and L-1049 were the mainstays) that such charts were created. The L-049 was kept simple, much as the DC-3 and DC-4, as was the custom for the time.

Yes, you need to use the context in which the aircraft are from. The modern charts and everything laid out on paper that modern commercial aircraft fly with now, simply didn't exist back then or even worse, when they did start appearing tended to be on a per airline basis making them different depending who you flew with.

Its a lot more fly by the seat of your pants, listen to the aircraft, maintain your machine and fly the aircraft accordingly.
