L049 routes
L049 routes
I want to do the exact same routes that the L049 took back in the early days of Airline Service

Re: L049 routes
Hi !
I apologize first, because this is my first post here. I have been a long time very happy Constellation Captain, and I hope I can help you find some ideas of flights for the beautiful Connie.
To complement with this beautiful bird, my virtual airline has implemented FULL classic schedules for several airlines, some of those including (of course) the L-049, but also other Connie variants.
This means that for the selected period, you can find all the routes operated by these airlines and fly them for us.
These are :
Lufthansa - Summer 1955, 1957 & 1958 => Visit South America !
TWA - Summer 1948
South African - Winter 1958
Air France - Summer 1953 => All the way from France to Japan via Middle East.
Iberia - Summer 1958
BOAC - Summer 1953 => Kangaroo routes inside.
Pan Am - Winter 1947
Qantas - Summer 1953 & 1958 => Kangaroo routes inside.
Trans-Canada - Summer 1954
All schedules are complete, authentic and thoroughly checked. Sources are various, findable in the aformentionned website or auctionned of eBay.
We are in the process of adding more, and we have plenty others routes, for example with the 377.
Our OPS Manual is here, a good read before the making the jump : http://flyingtigersgroup.org/downloads/ ... lRev20.pdf

I hope this helps you choose and pick some flights, and I apologize again for the savage "ad". Just trying to help you fly out

Re: L049 routes
You're going to want to look for schedules between 1947 and 1952/3 mainly. Anything past that is going to be all L-749 or later Connies.
Re: L049 routes
If you want to do relatively short trips, the Capital Airlines 1953 schedule is pretty good. I'm in the process of populating PFPX with all of their Connie legs.
The one I use for longer trips is Panair Do Brasil, 1952. Most of that's already in my PFPX. Waiting on Orbx Africa before crossing the Atlantic via Dakar to Europe.
Pan Am will get you half way around the world (NYC to Calcutta eastbound and back) in '47. We need our hosts to do that C-54/DC4 for the rest...
I've not looked at or done anything over five hours though.
