when are meals served?

Post by tekrc »

looking through the manual it says meals are served based on aircraft time. that's great and all but it doesn't actually say when meals are served making it tough to plan out flights. I end up having to circle for an age waiting on dinner to finish or whatever to avoid the negative press.

is there a timetable somewhere that shows the times?

also the gold pocket watch mentioned in the manual isnt on the table as the manual says

My experience is;
0630 to 0800
1130 to 1230
1730 to 1830

I don't keep a super close eye on it but it is in these time frames. Shift+5 will show the aircraft time which is according to the local time of the departure airport. These times may very depending on the time of your departure. If you liftoff at 0745 they start preparing breakfast almost immediately. If liftoff is 0815, you may not get breakfast.

I try to watch these times and if they will overlap with my approach and landing I turn meals off. For instance, if I'm 45 minutes from landing and the aircraft time is 1045 I turn meals off. Meals seem to last from 30 to 45 minutes and it takes about 30 minutes to prepare a meal and 15 or so to clean up after. Again, not real sure on times but they are close.

Cheers
Roger

Hi.
I find if i look at shift 2 prior to decent for landing , if meals are being prepared or even if they are eating , just turn meals of in shift 3 , and it goes imediatly into clearing up.

I have tried this before but received a complaint they didn't get to finish eating so I avoid it
