Fuel calculation with FSBuild

Post by Mischa »

I have created a PRF file for FSBuild to calculate the fuel that I would need for my flights. For everybody who is interested here are the data you would need.

1) in the file FSB_AIRCRAFT.CFG you need an entry for the Constellation as followed:

;************** LOCKHEED AIRCRAFT PROFILES ****************

[L049 Constellation / R-3350-35] -- (M.Meyer) ---
WeightUnit=LBS
OperEmptyWeight=51850
PayloadWeight=23150
ReserveFuel=:45
AlternateFuel=
HoldFuel=:15
ExtraFuel=
TaxiFuel=200
ApproachFuel=700
MaxTakeoffWeight=90000
MaxZeroFuelWeight=75000
MaxLandingWeight=75000
MaxFuelWeight=28440
ImageFile=
PerformanceData=L049.prf
ToldData=
DefaultTOFlaps=10
DefaultLDGFlaps=33
MaxCruise=24000

2) Then you have to create a file with the name L049.prf in the subfolder AIRCRAFT with following content:

[L1011-100] ---------------- L1011-100 w/ RB211-22B v1.0 -------(Created by Marc Brodbeck) ---

That's it.

You can plan your route with any tool you prefer and than use FSBuild to calculate the fuel for the flight. Please keep in mind that you have to configure FSBuild for the path to the actual weather file (e.g. ASN or AS16) to take care of the winds if you fly with real weather.
Cheers,
Michael
