Re: Connie - the sequel - NC86520
Quick note/FYI on Clipper America, was originally a model L749, Registration NC86530 (not NC86520) Delivered to Pan American 28-6-47 and sold to Air France in 1950, Great looking repaint however, will be a must get for me.
PS: I have your other Pan American repaint and note that the clipper name is missing, should be Clipper Caribbean for NC88831

Thank you very much for your feedback and kind words.
The image I had for the PAA paint did not have the name you mentioned. Just the CLIPPER text in front.
Then I have to release this one as semi-real

Re: Connie - the sequel - NC86520
Thank you for your brilliant first Pan Am repaint NC88831 which I installed this evening. Actually I think you are correct in your representation of this aircraft, as the early 049s in their bare metal colour schemes just had the word 'Clipper' on the nose, with no additional name, which only appeared later. Likewise the bare metal DC-4s in operation by Pan Am at the same time also just had the word 'Clipper' on the nose. So I think your release is actually a representation of the real scheme used at the time.ebo wrote:Thank you very much for your feedback and kind words.

With regard to your second repaint, I know Pan Am's later Constellation colour scheme had a white fuselage top, but I was not aware that any were painted with the white window line and a bare metal roof. So is this very nice second scheme real or fictitious?
Kind regards, Bill

I reworked this from a drawn poster and a bw side schematic with some colour coding
. Sadly there a not many Pan Am colour photos on the net with the various variations.
Glad you like the paint.
