After a few more flights. For some reason the condition of all four engines changed from "Good" to "Excellent" a couple flights ago, while still retaining the hours of use..

A couple more flights as I don't get much time to fly during the week. Today the flight was from Los Rodeos (GCXO) Tenerife-North, Spain to Ibn Batouta (GMTT) Tanger, Morocco. I decided to do something a little different on this flight and navigate with NDB's. I also decided to go with a non international airport and land on a bituminous surface runway. Although they are usually pretty nice and smooth it still is not concrete or asphalt. Anyhow, as I was boarding passengers Betty came racing to the cockpit and told us that Marilyn Monroe was boarding  Oh boy!

It turned out quite well and after the flight I found a note from Marilyn in my jacket 8)

Very nice kakarot133!

Here is my flight from today. I got a pay raise so some bragging rights are involved
This was my second attempt to complete this leg from Athens, Greece to Tehran, Iran. 5 1/2 hours into the first attempt early this morning and 9 minutes out of Tehran my game crashed  So I took a rattled breather, did some yard work and eat some grub. Then back at it. This time I had Douglas MacArthur on board for the flight  . Now I'm doubly nervous. I did get a nice tale wind (60+ knots) on the second attempt. That was nice.

Looking good Bob! Wow, 85 flights. You're getting some stick time.

Keep them coming folks. It's fun to watch this topic.

Here is a flight from last night. I departed Kathmandu (VNKT) Nepal and landed at Ahmendabad (VAAH) India. Winds were terrible for the first hour or so. 60 knot headwinds and gusting causing 30+ degree banking to and fro. They did finally settle down and I even got a tail wind. I wasn't going to post this but the paparazzi comment makes me laugh

I'm slowly turning my career from moderate to "ok", with especially my landings improving.
Betty starts asking me out after the flight, so I'm feeling lucky

I'm slowly flying my TWA Connie around the USA. Or maybe around the world. I flew her today from O'Hare in Chicago (KORD) to JFK in New York (KJFK). According to SkyVector and AS16, the weather was clear at both places, and pretty decent along the way, so I flew VFR at 11,500 feet most of the way, letting down gradually to 3,000 as we approached the New York area. Everything we smoothly until I intercepted the glideslope for RWY 31L. The wind was howling out of 350 at 22 knots with gusts to 35. I figured that it would be no sweat in the Connie. Guess again. It was like landing the Cub! I got her down a bit left of the centerline, on the right main, then the left. She really wasn't hard to keep aligned once the nose wheel touched down. No crying babies. No groaning co-pilot. No applause, either, especially from the folks on the left side of the airplane, who definitely got a good look at my landing expertise  out their side windows... Still, we got there in one piece, with no major complaints.

The Connie is a good bird.

Here's the sheet:

So now: do I head south and fly a clockwise circle around the USA? Or do I head north, towards Goose Bay, Greenland, Iceland and on to see what I can find?

I've been working my way to New Zealand setting up for a flight to McMurdo Station on Antarctica. It looks like, time permitting, I'll make the hop South from Dunedin, New Zealand to McMurdo Station on Saturday, April 1st (April Fools Day). For now here is my latest flight just finished a few minutes ago. Sydney, Australia to Hobart, Tasmania. I recieved a round of applause on main gear down but was anxious to make the taxiway and didn't let the nose gear down as smooth as I (or they) would have liked.

Impressive stuff everyone!

So I'm 32 flights and about 90h (117h on the airframe) into my career and the airline says:

You are a Captain
You are adored by your crew

And the passengers say that:

"Those pilot's were artists!"

Makes one proud after the flight 8)

I love this simulation. It's so much fun to fly and I've never been that careful with a sim (except the B377 COTS maybe  )

I'll try to post a screenshot later...
