Engine Sound

Post by TomSteber »

Need help. Recently purchased the T-6 for FSX. Was running great. Fired her up today and let the engine warm up to norms. Taxied out and took off. Switched to an outside view and the engine sounded as though the throttle had been pulled back to close to idle. Switch back to cockpit view and it all sounds normal. Switch back to the outside view and it sounds like I've pulled the throttle again. None of this was happening for the first few days I had this. Any ideas? Really sucks after dropping $50

BTW: I'm running FSX Gold all up to date. Also run Accu-Feel all up to date.

Are you viewing a replay or switching to an outside view while still in flight?

So I went to the "uninstall/change" section of Windows 10 control panel.
I was going to uninstall it and reinstall but first I thought I would try the repair button.
I ran it. Fired up FSX again. Some of those windows that pop up when you first install a plane when trying to load it came up.
I clicked "OK". Fired up the plane and all is well again! Not really sure what happened though. I hope this lasts. Would still like to know what happened to cause that in the first place.

Did you install or uninstall anything after installing the T6?

Sometimes looped sounds (like engines) can get bugged in FSX and P3D, where they play at a lower than normal pitch. Usually you can get around this with two presses of the 'Q' key (which turns sound off and then back on.)

It sounds like you have some permissions issues on your pc as the first time you loaded it the permissions for your FSX didnt save. Are you running as administrator (right click select run as admin).

Also as an FSX user have you run the latest Accu-sim updater?

Well it was def a permissions issue on your system either way, as the only way your sim would ask you to ok the aircraft again would be if the first time the permissions where not written to your system, OR maybe you accidentally clicked NO last time which would also causes weirdness as a bunch of aircraft systems wouldn't be functioning correctly.
