T-6 - Radios not connecting to ATC window. Can't use ATC!

Hi there,

I've been flying the T-6 for a while now, almost clocked 12 hours in it at the moment. However, out of the blue the ATC window comes up and shows options but the options do not respond when selected. Also cannot hear any other transmissions. It seems like the ATC window and Radios are not connecting to one another. Any frequency change on the ATC window will not occur on the radio, and vice versa. I've reinstalled the aircraft and done the update again but somehow it still isn't working. And none of my other A2A planes are affected. It's extremely frustrating as it occured out of nowhere mid-flight.

I've checked all the usual stuff like circuit breakers etc but with no luck.

Help would be much appreciated as I really did enjoy flying this plane!

first up to check is if when you reinstalled you reinstalled correct and to ask you not to revert to a reinstall as the first sign of trouble as it will make troubleshooting a lot more frustrating and time consuming than it might otherwise be. Its one of those classic mistakes users make that I'm trying to comment on a bit more each time I come across it. A reinstall should always be way down the troubleshooting list often as a very last resort.

So when you reinstalled did you delete the update folder and re-run the updater so it can correctly run and update your files.

If the issue originally happened mid-flight then it points to something simple like an outside influence like a corrupt saved flight, a simconnect failure etc or a corrupt .dat file. Upon trying a new flight are you trying a new flight from scratch or reloading the faulty flight?

Hi Lewis!

I apologise for making it a little more difficult to troubleshoot by reinstalling, and next time I'll be sure to do a reinstall as one of the last things to do to troubleshoot.

I loaded a fresh new flight from scratch and the problem still existed. again only on this aircraft. That's when I did the reinstall, I then deleted the updated client file and ran the update. I then attempted to load a new flight and the problem still occurred, however I believe I initially loaded my default flight before starting a new one. So I do believe there's a high chance it could be a corrupt flight file. I may try deleting the default flights and starting completely fresh and seeing if that fixes it.

As for the simconnect failure, I'm unsure how to troubleshoot this. And any idea which .dat file could be corrupt?

Hi Lewis,

Just wanting to let you know, I've deleted all of my old previous flights and flight plans and started completely fresh and it has done the trick! So far its looking to be all operating normally.

Hi Lewis,

It was just a flight that I keep saving over so I can load it from exactly where I left off each time. At some point it must've gotten corrupt. Not sure how but it's happened once before where the entire FSX crashed upon selecting free flight and the default flight was also the cause.

Hello Jordan,

its highly recommended to never use a complex simulation such as our Accu-sim aircraft for your default flight. This may be why you encountered issues.
