Save flight in V4 cause view pan issue

Post by stephan.cote.1 »

Hey guys, just a something to look into.. when I installed the T6 in V4 when you released it, I encounter a bug as soon as I saved a flight with it. I rasent able to pan my view using the hat switch in any other direction then up and up left...

That affected all my plane.

Deleting the .a2a and save file in document / p3dv4 saved files folder fix the issue right away...

Running p3dv4 in windows 10 pro 1607....

All updates install, Also have v3 installed on my PC...

Steph

Hello Steph,

can you re-produce this, was you saving it as a default flight (we do not recommend using complex sims as default flight) and lastly are you using any camera add-ons?

thanks,
Lewis

I also had this problem. Very frustrating! Deleted P3Dv4 and reinstalled. Haven't had a fly yet.

You should never reinstall without troubleshooting it'll just cause frustration and makes an issue harder to troubleshoot. Luckily this issue is now known to be caused by users going against the recommended practice of never using a complex sim as a default flight. resulted in the failed flight initialisation. Lockheed are also working on a few things that might help users in this area.

I actually realised that not using a default flight might be the problem,(I'd forgotten about previous problems) so I then restarted P3Dv4, loaded a default flight, (the F-22), then changed aircraft and airfield, and still had the panning problem.
Since my previous post, and the reinstall, I have been for a fly, and all seems well. It's a shame that saving flights, and starting with that flight, seems to be creating problems.

I think, in my case at least, the problem night have been of my doing. I had my settings way too high for my PC. Windows 10 64-bit, [email protected], 16.0GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680.
I basically reset P3Dv4 to its default settings, and it's running very smoothly, Looks like that 1080TI, 32GB RAM and the i7770 is closer than I thought!
