Texan T-6 GPS Installation Problem

Yesterday I purchased the Texan T6 for FSX (order # 119338). I am having problems in installing the aircraft, in that using the T6 Aircraft Configurator the GPS does not function at all and does not display correctly.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, to no avail. When installing the aircraft and when a screen appears "Installing Microsoft DirectX", I am getting an arror message, as follows:
"DirectX Setup: An internal system error occurred. Please refer to DXError.log and DirectX.log in your Windows folder to determine problem. DirectX installation failed."
I cannot find DXError.log and DirectX.log in the Windows folder. I have DirectX version 11 installed on my system, and the DirectX Diagnostic Tool lists: "No problems found."

I am not sure if DirectX is the culprit of the installation failure of the GPS.

My OS:
Windows 7 64 bit, FSX Acceleration

Do you start the T-6 installer as system administrator? It looks like a permission problem to me.

Hello,

reinstalling will not solve any issues but could cause some so its always best to ask first. The dx issue is a non issue as it sounds like your all updated, but please note dx9 is required and dx11 is not the same. Just ignore for now though as if you have loaded the T-6 already your dx9 is installed and working.

For the GPS issue can you give more details in how its not working for you also for which third party GPS you own that you are wishing to use in the T-6.

Thanks for the quick response.

With the Configurator I am trying to integrate the RealityXP GPS, which I own. The display is a kind of blurred RealityXP logo with none of the GPS buttons working.
How is it possible to include a screen picture here?

For the integration are you opening the configuration tool as admin (right click run as admin) also did you run the latest Accu-sim updater, and lastly you are not using an included RXP tool just our configuration tool as all that is needed is our tool for integration into the cockpit.

I have installed the Texan as "Run as administrator" and have also used the A2A Texan Configurator as "Run as administrator". I have NOT used the RealityXP Configurator.

Hi,

Just curious. . . does the RXP gauge work properly when installed in another aircraft? I ask because what you are seeing generally indicates the gauge can't see its license.

In the meantime found out that it was indeed a license issue. All resolved now, and RealityXP GPS works fine.
