FSX crashes after every first flight with an A2A airplane

Hello all,

Every time I fly with an A2A plane, it works flawlessly. However upon loading the next flight, or if I try to load another airplane, I simply experience a CTD. It happens right before the loading text initializes. I don't know what could be causing the issue, so any help would be greatly appreciated...

Hello Lewis, From the free flight menu initially, and then it crashes whenever you try to call up any menu whatsoever after your first flight, including just resetting the flight.

which products from u are you using, is your FSX all updated is your A2A simulation all updated and most importantly, what is your default flight set too?

Namely the T-6 and the mustang, but as a long time customer, I have everything with the exception of the Spitfire and the Cherokee. FSX:SE is up to date, as is accusim.

Sorry, totally forgot about the flight! It is the default fsx flight with the air trike

Hi.
When you say the A2A first flight is ok , and sim crashes on second flight , are you doing this immediatly after the first , or are you shutting sim down and then restarting the sim , before you reselect a flight .
If you are finishing one flight with an A2A aircraft , then trying to load another complex addon aircraft for next flight without shuting sim down, then that is the cause , you must shut the sim down after you have ended the first flight , before restarting sim and then selecting next flight.
It is a fault of FSX not initialising the second flight , hence the need to shut down sim after each flight .

Hi Alan, it happens with any addon be it a2a or not, after I load an A2A plane, it always crashes. The boxed edition never seemed to do this for me back in the day. Upon reboot, the sim works as expected.

Try reinstalling simconnect, it sounds like somethings not being unloaded on your FSX Steam edition, could even be a permissions thing.

Hello Lewis,

I tried reinstalling simconnect using the installers in the different folders- but only one ran... The other two closed after the installer window popped up. Running it has made it possible for me to switch to other 3rd party/fsx default addons but upon loading another a2a plane, it crashes again.

Are you using FSX-SE or FSX boxed?

If your using boxed version, you may or may not be having a problem that I solved on my system by replacing a file called UIAutomationCore.dll in your main FSX folder. Do a search for this file and you should find information on it. (or PM me) Typically, this may fix FSX crashing to a fatal error (for some users ) when you use repeated FSX menu functions. IF... you receive a Fatal Error.... when you are using the top menu.

BE SURE TO RENAME THE ORIGINAL UIAutomationCore.dll FILE TO SOMETHING ELSE FIRST! That way, if the replacement file causes other issues (didn't for me), then you can revert back to the original file.

I don't believe FSX-SE has this issue.
