Nice to be back flying the T6 after a long break!
For the air source, when to select which?
And given that there is no oil cooler door, how do we manage the oil temp?
Any advice much appreciated?
Air Source & Oil Temp
Re: Air Source & Oil Temp
Hi,
Air source switch, changes the air source for the temperature steam gauge. In one position it measures the outside air and in the other the carburetor air.(not a 100% sure, though)
The T-6 on the other hand, does not have oil cooler door, since it has oil cooler module behind the radial engine. Hot enough oil is diverted trough that device in order to be cooled. You can check this site, with a lot of awesome original aircraft manuals.
Cheerz,
Will

Alright Thanks much there.
Re: Air Source & Oil Temp
I leave it on carb air most of the time.
