Printable Checklist

Post by FlexFlier »

I find the Kneeboard a bit cumbersome at times so, for those of us who like real world type operations, here's a printable checklist as it might have looked back in the day. It is taken from the Checklist section of the A2A Pilot's Manual with only a few minor modifications for formatting purposes.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/lxqqb6kowebe8 ... t.pdf?dl=0

Some notes:
1. Like any checklist, it assumes that the pilot has read the manual and is ready to fly the airplane to spec. Therefore, it is not a detailed description of every operation; rather, it is a reminder of things that must be done for a safe flight.

2. There has been some very interesting discussion on this Forum about the number of times the prop should be pulled through prior to starting. Because this is a variable with some differing opinions, I used the number (4) published by A2A.

3. The format is based on what I used in a real world flying career for 45+ years. The checklist is intended to be printed front and back (if you have a duplex printer, flip on the short edge) and then folded in thirds. This provides a compact document that can be easily stored and retrieved in the cockpit. I use 110 lb. paper for durability and in the real world would spray it with a photo fixative for greater protection.

I hope you like it. Comments and suggestions gratefully accepted.

Perhaps an apology is in order. Being an American, I fitted this for 8.5" x 11" US Letter paper. I will try to re-size it for A4 and post to my dropbox. Thanks for the suggestion.

For all you great simmers in places other than the US (which would be most of the world, eh?), here's an A4 version:
