Plane spins when starting motor
Plane spins when starting motor
Pardon me if this is operator error. I will gladly post in the proper forum. I've been using sims for awhile, but new to proper operation of accurately modeled plans such as the Comanche. Going thru described starting procedure from user manual, sometimes the plane will spin rapidly in-place, and becomes non-responsive to any input. I have to shut P3D4 down. Is this a bug or am I making mistakes. Thrustmaster t flight hotas x and t flight rudder pedals. Win10. Fast intel nvidia gaming pc

Hello and welcome to the A2A forums.
Sounds like you've installed the latest Accu-Sim update...
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Plane spins when starting motor
Yes, that should fix it if you prefer not to update to P3Dv4.1 at present.
Thanks,
Nick

Hi there ;D
At first, for all a Happy New Year 2018 ;D
OK, now I have the same problem, I use the P3D 4.1 actual Update install. The problem I have with the Comanche 250, Cessna 172, Cessna 182 and the Cherokee too.
Now my question, how can I fix it ?

Re: Plane spins when starting motor
I think the 'spinning plane' thing is most likely caused by the latest Accu-Sim update being applied, but Prepar3D itself not being properly updated to v4.1 standard.
Gerriet - please can you double-check the installed P3D version numbers as shown here and here? When it comes to updating P3D, you must uninstall the existing client and content components before installing the new versions. More details in this post on the Avsim forums.
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Plane spins when starting motor
Agreed.. it's quite a common problem, either user has 4.0 but installed the Accu-sim 4.1 update, has 4.1 but did NOT install the Accu-sim update, or has attempted to update P3D from 4.0 to 4.1 but P3D doesn't actually update as intended then user installs Accu-sim 4.1 update :pOracle427 wrote:Happy New Year all!

Re: Plane spins when starting motor
I too faced the same issue when 4.1 was released.
For me, when 4.1 was released I went to my Prepar3d download page and THOUGHT I downloaded 4.1 but after running into the same issues realized that it was still 4.0 on my Prepar3d download page. But when I went back to my Prepar3d download page it had (magically) became 4.1.
Verify it’s the proper version when you download it. Also, are you reinstalling the entire program or are you only installing the main component? (Hope I said that right). You can install 3 seperate components. Follow the instructions for doing it properly on the P3d website.
I’m wondering if you’re not upgrading P3d properly. If it’s not too involved you might consider uninstalling it then make sure you install 4.1. Then of course run the A2A patch
