Hi guys,
Weird issue, my autopilot is dead. Using P3Dv4 at the mo, previously FSX SE. Flown a lot of hours so I know what I'm doing (or think I do). Anyway the issue is when I switch on the autopilot, it does a self test and all the lights are annunciated, after the self test usually I have a constant light against the Ready indicator. When I'm up in the air I press the push knob once to go into Wings level or Heading mode but no lights are shown its just completely dead?
I've done the pre flight and nothing appears broken in the hangar.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Sid

Re: Autopilot not working
Hello,
tech support wise, how are you loading the flight and check you are not loading as a default flight with an A2A aircraft are the first things to check. Also if you are testing with the same flight, try a different one in case its a simple case of a flight being corrupted and causing some issues.
thanks,
Lewis

Re: Autopilot not working
Hi Lewis
Always start the default flight in my case the F14 I think it is then load the Comanche on top. Tried closing P3D and starting again from different fields but same behaviour, autopilot is dead. Like I say when I flick the switch to turn the autopilot on all the lights light up, but I dont have a constant ready light and pressing the button to switch modes doesnt do anything, no lights there after. Very odd...think a reinstall might help?
Thanks

Re: Autopilot not working
According to the STEC manual "The green Ready (RDY) Light indicates the gyro has reached its operating RPM and the autopilot can be engaged."
I don't see the green ready light anymore. This is a picture of the unit with power to the aircraft and ready to go...
Like I said when I flick the autopilot master next to the yoke the unit lights up and goes through a self test and then just dies on me....really strange. I've NEVER had this issue in the Comanche before and I've flown over 150 hours easily in both FSX SE and P3Dv4 combined. This is right out of the blue, very frustrating.
What's the red and white block indicate on the AP unit? Can't say I've ever noticed this before, clue??
Thanks

Re: Autopilot not working
Resolved it! The "HSI Turn Coor" circuit breaker was set to OFF located next to the primer, no idea why. I pushed the little bugger back in, restarted the aircraft and bingo!
