Engine does not start, even in auto mode. No clicks or sound

Post by NPleyer »

Hi, guys. I am new here and have the following problem:
Comanche 250 does not start the engine in no way. Auto-mode or c+d. There is no sound of the fuel pump, the clickable spots nor any other sound. But all the clicksposts are working. It looks like there is no power, GPS and radio do not start.
Can someone help?

Maybe dumb questions but you didn't say so so we'll start with this:

Did you check the Maintenance hanger? Maybe the battery is dead.

Are you using the checklist in the manual?

Hi and welcome to the forums.

If you can't resolve the issue by replacing the battery in the maintenance hangar (shift 7) as suggested above, please can you confirm if you've installed the SimConnect client for P3D? From the FAQ thread...
Lewis - A2A wrote:P3D - Installed but nothing works and all is broken!?

P3DV3 sometimes won't install the required simconnect files. No worries though as they are provided by Lockheed in the following directory;
\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\redist\Interface\FSX-SP2-XPACK\retail\lib
See here for more info.

Thanks,
Nick

Thanks for quick reply
Of course I have tried ctrl+E. SimConnect is installed. In my hangar everything is shot. Complete overhaul does not respond. On ctrl+E the plane starts to shake a bit (from EZCA) just for a few seconds, but the prop does not move.

Definitely sounds like a SimConnect issue of some sort.

It's recommended to load a default P3D aircraft then switch to the Comanche. Loading a default flight with a complex add-on can sometimes prevent SimConnect from initialising properly.

I also suggest you browse to the file path described above, right-click the SimConnect.msi icon and select "repair". Also don't forget to restart your PC before retesting.

Thanks,
Nick

P.S. Which version of P3D are you using?

Another dumb question but did you check the breakers. When I first installed the Comanche in V4 I also couldnt get it to start and found one of the breakers was out.

A good thought, but tripped breakers can't explain everything being broken in the hangar and the lack of sounds. For this, a SimConnect issue almost always seems to be the culprit: either the correct version not being installed, the libraries being corrupt, or the client just failing to initialise properly during the sim session in question.

Nick

I am in P3d v3.4
What is the correct version of SimConnect and how can I check the libraties for being corrupt? Every other non A2A plane works. What about the dll.xml file. Must SimConnect be included?
What can I do?

Norbert,

The required version of SimConnect is the one in the "FSX-SP2-XPACK" directory as mentioned above. You can install or repair it via the context menu if you right-click on the file itself.

If SimConnect is properly installed, please can you open the directory "C:\Users\[UserName]\Documents\A2A\FSX\Comanche250" and check if it contains any files. If the sim is unable to write to/read from your "My Documents" directory, it might explain the issue.

Thanks,
Nick

I have the correct SimConnect file. In the above mentioned directory there are 3 log files.
Any other ideas?

Okay, sounds like the software is writing files to this location okay.

Please can you tell us what the full installation path is for the Cherokee. (i.e. did you use the default location in "My Documents" or did you modify it?).

Hopefully Lewis from A2A will chime in when he gets a moment though I know the guys are busy at present with the EAA Oshkosh show in the States.

Cheers,
Nick

I use the drive E: (2TB) only for flightsim. So the path is simple E:\P3D
I also repaired the complete P3D, no change. Is there a chance, that Just Flight solt me the wrong version? It says: A2A Comanche 250 with Accu-Sim (for P3D) (JFF002304) € 44,-
I have tried to install the Accu Sim update 04_13_17 but the installation stops with the comment: This updater is not compatible with Lockheed Martin Prepar3D v4. But I have only v3.4
Could this be the problem?

Yes - that's a bit odd. When did you download the product from JustFlight?

Recent downloads should have contained two separate installers for P3D: on for 32 bit versions (Comanche_P3Dv1-3_Academic.EXE) and one for 64 bit (Comanche_P3Dv4_Academic.EXE). It's the first of these which is appropriate in your case.

Please can you confirm the exact filename of the installer which you ran.

Thanks,
Nick
