The October update was just a quick patch to address a steering issue introduced with an API change in P3Dv4.1.
I am guessing that a subsequent feature release patch will include this.

The official fix is James, but in the meantime you're welcome to download corrected *.fx files I linked in
this post last September.

Thanks Nick, I skip read the post a bit, but read something about causing issues with the strobes being on with no power to the aircraft? Or was that different?

The strobes/power issue is different James. The corrected *.fx files just fix a few typos which incorrectly alias the external light effects to textures files which are installed with the Cessna 172.
In other words, at present the missing light effects in the Comanche, Cherokee, 182 and T-6 will only be noticed by those who don't have the A2A 172 installed.
