Comanche no radio sound & crashes to desktop

Hi Guys,

I've just reinstalled W7, FSX and the lovely A2A Comanche but unfortunately I haven't been able to fly it yet as I used to before the W7 reinstallation. On the first attempt to fly it I found out the radio sound was inaudible, and although I checked and re-checked my PC and FSX sound config it didn't work at all. But then things got worse when I started FSX chose the Comanche for a free flight and bang! FSX crashed to desktop when I tried to load the aircraft for a free flight. I tried installing SimConnect but I don't know why I can't find a direct access to the program to run it. So, I'm deeply lost and I don't know what else I can try to get back on track to fly the Comanche. I hope you can help me as this had never happened to me before

Hi fedemalfu - which version of FSX is it you've got? If it's the original non-Acceleration boxed edition, did you remember to install both the FSX service packs from Microsoft? Also, have you run the latest Accu-Sim update since reinstalling all your software?

Hello,

it sounds like your direct X9 isnt all updated if its crashing upon selection but i'd also check as Nick says that your FSX is all updated as is your Comanche via our latest updater.

Thanks for your prompt replies guys. Actually I have installed the boxed Acceleration extension and also run the Accusim updater, though I don't know if it's the latest version available. I remember I downloaded it sometime last year way before the complete W7 reinstallation. The DirectX version I have installed is DX11. I'm firmly thinking about reinstalling Fsx though I'm reluctant for now. Any other ideas?

You will need to install DX9 as FSX does not support DX11.

You should not have to uninstall DX11 as they can exist side-by-side on your system.

Yes no uninstall is needed the libraries are entirely separate.

It doesn't seem to be working. I've downloaded and installed DX9 but it says there's a newer version already installed. Before the first desktop crash, I'd read the sound problem might be caused by the logbook so I deleted it, and that was when I had my first crash. Then I restored it but since then I couldn't run the Comanche anymore and the desktop crashed haven't stopped.

The flight logbook. What I get after choosing the Comanche from the aircraft I have is that it stops going around and doesn't allow me to choose the "fly now" option. Next a sign "a fatal error occurred" shows up and that's when FSX shuts down. Sorry for the long explanation, but I was trying to attach a picture so that you could see it better but the board attachment quota has been reached and I couldn't make it.

Did the direct X9 component work for you during the Comanche install?

I have the Comanche of your design and Carenado Centurion. Then I've got a couple of addon sceneries and some ai traffic both from Argentina. I've got no FSUIPC installed (I was thinking this might fix the problem). The DX9 installer worked during the Comanche installation but a message showed up reading there was a newer version of the program already installed so the components were already upgraded.
