Load texture error (solved)

Post by guillaume78150 »

I checked the DX10 config on the PC, everything's ok and I did not change any settings in DX10Fixer.
However, once in flight, trying to switch from the external view to the VC view, I got the following error message on a black screen.

Image

When clicking "Ok", same one with "GTN650", and a last one with "GPS", then back to normal display.
Scratching my head...

No problem with FSX Baron & Mooney. This seems linked to the Comanche.
(The Comanche is "standard", I have no third party GPS).
Should I reinstall ?

Hi Lewis,

A2A is updated.
As for DX10, not sure I understand "shaders change". I never had problems with it and all lights were converted.
I tried to uninstall A2A Comanche from the Control Panel but I got an error message stating the AC was already deleted... (I did not find unistall option in the A2A main menu.)
I then removed all FSX A2A files by hand, ran CCleaner to clean the registry and reinstalled the Comanche. Same error message...

Strange. :?:

Hello,

when you reinstalled did you also delete the update folder and re-run the updater?

I deleted only the FSX A2A folders. I installed from the original file stored on my PC and updated with the A2A forum file. Install was uneventful and the problem happens only with the Comanche. Weird.

Default repaint or third party repaint?

No, "stock" Comanche "29P"...
Is there a way to fully delete the A/C from FSX ?
I thought I did but after reinstalling it, the engine "mileage" was still the same.

Yes you will need to manually delete all the files from your sim directory, the aircraft in the simobjects etc and also the data files; \Documents\A2A\FSX\Comanche250

Ok, thanks.
Before deleting everything, I'm not sure it's related, but the GNS400 does not work, it's there but does not switch on.

Are all the fuses in correctly?

The GNS400 is the default GPS btw so if it really doesnt work when it should it shows an FS issue.

Lewis,

I deleted everything (simobject A2A, backup etc). I reinstalled. Problem not solved. Amazingly the engine hours log still shows the former hours count...
What did I missed ? Where is stored the aircraft history ?

Looks like you missed the dat files, depending on how many of our aircraft you have you can find the folders in here;

\Documents\A2A

Just delete the comanche contents and re-run your updater. The data files will be created upon starting the Comanche.

I missed that rep indeed.
I reloaded a brand new Comanche, still the same error message when switching view to the VC only.
When switching to external or tower or close-up on the instruments panel, no problem.
As it is obviously GPS related, is it normal I can select Mindstar, RealityXP GPS in the configurator, having them displayed on the panel replacing the standard one but they can't be switched on ?
Sorry about all that but it's a bit confusing...

Hi chaps,

I just Googled this error and Guillaume, I wonder if you've turned on the "missing texture alert" in the DX10 controller interface, as described here?

Cheers,
Nick
