When your engine quits on takeoff from runway 24 at Catalina. P3D v4 avatar guy actually does a sort of dog paddle when he is in the water.

Although I can't be absolutely certain, I think it may be related to my pulling the mixture knob all the way out to the cutoff position. :twisted: I wanted to see if I could make the isthmus road at Twin Harbors as an abort site. I probably could've pulled it off if I hadn't initially done a 180 and tried to make it back to the runway. After I wasted a bunch of perfectly good altitude in that futile endeavor, a nice refreshing swim in the ocean was thus assured.
