Manual gear extension how does it work.

Post by bobsk8 »

For the second time in well over 150 hours, the gear circuit breaker popped, which I discovered after I was cleared to land on Vatsim. ( no green light) It was evening, and hard to see the breaker, so I pulled the manual gear extension lever, but didn't see anything happen, so I finally found the breaker, reset it and down came the gear. My question is , how does the manual gear extension work, do you pump the handle after it is extended?

It's "all" on page 87 of the Comanche manual. Never happened to me. YET. Hmm. I'll have to try the emergency extension procedure on the next flight.

OK, I just found this: http://www.comancheflyer.com/page/410/T ... Brakes.pdf. Wow. As much as I love my N5665P, I am sure glad I don't really own one of these things. LOTS of stuff can go wrong, and it's not cheap to fix or find parts for any of it.

Next time you're plinkin' around on the Internet, check this: http://www.comancheflyers.com/.

Oh man, I just found this - "Comanche Tips" http://www.comancheflyers.com/publicati ... rformance/.

Enjoy.

Wow, great links.. I missed that on page 87. I will have to try that myself on the next flight.

I have had to do a manual extension IRL. One lever that swings forward until the gear is down and locked.

Love it! Systems one-o-one, this contains all of the principle.
